MICHAEL MROSKO
A random encounter in a coffee shop brought Michael Mrosko to Camp Barnabas. There he met two Camp Barnabas staff who were in College Station, Texas on a summer staff recruiting trip. The ensuing conversation led to Michael being hired for summer 2005 and, after coming back in summer 2006, he took a year-round position as Retreat Coordinator in August of that year. He sees the retreat season as a way to strengthen connections between Camp Barnabas and the churches, individuals and organizations who support the camp’s ministry. “Running retreats gives me the opportunity to serve others,” he explains. “Bringing people in from all types of organizations – church ministries, corporations, schools – allows us to offer the camp experience to more and more people who then embrace Camp Barnabas as a part of their story. And the serving multiples out through their groups. It’s a way for Camp Barnabas to keep giving year-round.”
